One of the main objectives of Canadian immigration is to welcome qualified newcomers who will contribute to Canada’s economy. The skilled workers who are settling permanently in Canada are particularly valuable to the Canadian economy and workforce.
Candidates who qualify for the Skilled Worker Immigration programs will receive an immigrant visa that will allow them to immigrate to Canada with their families.
As a qualified worker or professional, you have several options to consider. For example, you may be eligible to apply for the Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Class or, if you intend to come to Quebec, the Quebec Skilled Worker Program may be a pathway for you and your family. In addition, if you know which province or territory you plan to live in, you may apply for one of the Provincial Nominee Programs.
Quebec Skilled Worker: Individuals who intend to emigrate to the province of Quebec may be eligible to apply for this program.
Provincial Nominations Programs (PNPs): Most provinces and territories have created their own programs for qualified workers who intend to live and work in the province or territory. These are Canada’s Fast Track Immigration Programs, which allow candidates to receive a provincial nomination certificate. In most cases, the nomination certificate will allow candidates to immigrate faster than other Canadian immigration programs.
The Federal Skilled Worker program uses its own points system according to various factors. It is designed to show if the applicant and dependents will successfully establish in Canada. Ideal applicants will possess skills and experience compatible with in-demand occupations. The selection rules favor applicants with government-approved job offers.
Start-Up Visa was introduced as a five-year pilot project. The Start-Up Visa Program grants Canadian permanent residence to qualified immigrant entrepreneurs. The program aims to recruit innovative entrepreneurs to Canada and make it easier for them to set up a business in Canada. It is currently a popular program with many opportunities.
The program is aimed at individuals who have relevant experience in self-employment as well as the intention and ability to create their own employment and make a meaningful contribution to Canada’s cultural, artistic or sporting life, or to create their own employment by purchasing and managing a farm in Canada. The Government of Quebec manages its own immigration programs, which include rules for selecting qualified workers and business classes.
